6.00

Pin Size: 1-1/8" Tall

Established April 8, 1975, Voyageurs National Park was named for French Canadian fur traders, the first European settlers to frequently travel through the area. From supporting the life and culture of American Indians to supplying resources for the fur trade, commercial fishing, gold mining, and timber and tourism industries, the interconnected waterway system of Voyageurs National Park has influenced the movement of people for thousands of years. The rock within the park is part of the Canadian Shield. This layer, created during the Precambrian era, dates back 1-3 billion years ago. Nowhere else in North American parks can you see and touch extensive exposures of rocks this old.
